CV Summary

I am a marine ecologist and scientific diver specialized in marine conservation. My main research interests focus in the applicability of ecological, genetic and socioeconomic knowledge into the management of marine systems. To do so, I combine fieldwork, genetic analyses, ecological monitoring and participatory tools and local knowledge into marine management.

I hold a PhD in Marine Ecology from the University of the Balearic Islands (UIB), where I investigated the ecological and genetic aspects of protected benthic species in the Western Mediterranean. My research addressed population connectivity patterns, genetic structure, and threats resulting from species extinction and environmental degradation.

I also expanded my research toward climate change adaptation and mitigation in Mediterranean small-scale fisheries, working closely with fishing communities and co-management initiatives.

I am currently working at the Balearic Oceanographic Centre (IEO-CSIC), within the Group of Ecosystem Oceanography (GRECO) research group.

Between XXX and XXX I was working on the VADAPES II project “ADAptación y mitigación al cambio climático en el sector pesquero español: herramientas para prevenir la maladaptación en PESquerías del Atlántico y del Mediterráneo”.

Since 2025 I am involved in the DIBAP project (“Present, Past and Future of the Biodiversity of the Balearic Pelagic Habitat”), which explores the biodiversity of the Balearic pelagic habitat to assess its historical and current status, as well as the environmental and anthropogenic drivers of change.
