Research Interest

I am a postdoctoral researcher at the Spanish Institute of Oceanography (IEO-CSIC), based at the Oceanographic Centre of the Balearic Islands, within the Ecosystem Oceanography Group (GRECO). The focus of my research is to understand how environmental stressors—such as temperature, food availability, and climate-driven processes—affect the physiological and behavioral strategies of fish. Through experimental and field approaches, I aim to improve ecological models that link individual performance to population dynamics, enhance fish welfare, and contribute to the development of sustainable aquaculture. My work mainly focuses on tuna species—particularly the Atlantic bluefin tuna (Thunnus thynnus).

I obtained my PhD in Marine Ecology from the University of the Balearic Islands (2018) and carried out postdoctoral research at the University of Hamburg (Germany) and at the Oceanographic Centres of the Balearic Islands and Murcia (IEO-CSIC). I have been awarded several competitive postdoctoral fellowships, including the Margalida Comas and ForInDoc programs funded by the Government of the Balearic Islands, and I am currently supported by a Vicent Mut postdoctoral fellowship financed from the Direcció General de Política Universitària i Recerca de la Conselleria de Fons Europeus, Universitat i Cultura.
