Postdoctoral researcher

Dr. M Pilar Tugores is a postdoctoral researcher of the Vicenç Mut Program, co-financed by the Govern de les Illes Balears (Ministry of European Funds, Universitat i Cultura - General Directorate of University Policy and Research) and the Spanish Institute of Oceanography (IEO- CSIC).

Her scientific career is linked to the study of the dynamics of marine ecosystems and the evaluation of their status, developing three main lines of research:

A) Estimation of indicators of abundance of fish populations subject to fishing, development of indicators of the state of the spawning stock and recruitment,
B) Study of the spatial distribution and potential habitat of small and large pelagic and demersal species,
C) Analysis of the effect of environmental variability on the distribution of these species.

During her current postdoctoral contract, she will be carrying out a project for the integrated monitoring and observation of large oceanic migrant species in the Balearic Sea.

Dra. M Pilar Tugores es investigadora postdoctoral del Programa Vicenç Mut, co-financiado por el Govern de les Illes Balears (Direcció General de Política Universitària i Recerca de la Conselleria de Fons Europeus, Universitat i Cultura) y el Instituto Español de Oceanografía (IEO-CSIC).

La carrera científica que ha desarrollado va ligada al estudio de la dinámica de los ecosistemas marinos y la evaluación de su estado, desarrollando principalmente tres líneas de investigación:

a) Estimación de indicadores de abundancia de poblaciones de peces objeto de la pesca, desarrollo de indicadores del estado del stock reproductor y reclutamiento,
b) Estudio de la distribución espacial y hábitat potencial de especies de pequeños y grandes pelágicos y demersales,
c) Análisis del efecto de la variabilidad ambiental en la distribución de estas especies.

En el marco del contrato postdoctoral lleva a cabo un proyecto para el seguimiento y observación integrados de los grandes migradores oceánicos en el Mar Balear.
