CV Summary Marine Biologist and MSc in Oceanography, with specialisation in Biological Oceanography. My main research topics are coastal ecology, aquaculture, blue growth, NIS, amphipods, biodiversity and conservation under anthropogenic pressures. I was graduated at the University of Alicante and postgraduated at the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, where I developed my master's thesis, focused on the comparison of epifaunal assemblages between Cymodocea nodosa and Caulerpa prolifera meadows in Gran Canaria. During this time, I published my master thesis in a scientific peer-reviewed journal and participated in some other publications, among which I collaborated in the description of a new amphipod genus and species from the Macaronesian region. Lately, I hold a research fellowship in the Mariculture Centre of Calheta (Madeira) to develop a framework for the sustainability of the aquaculture industry in Macaronesia, based on the Blue Growth Strategy. In parallel, I conducted diverse experiments concerning fish welfare, and the study of NIS within the epifaunal community of the sea-cages fouling. I am currently involved in the characterisation of non-indigenous species in MPAs as part of the LIFE INTEMARES project. Links: ORCID Research Gate Update in July 2019 |
