CV Summary

After graduating in Environmental Sciences (Universidad Autónoma de Madrid) I finished a Master's Programme in Marine Biology (Universidade da Coruña). My master's thesis was developed at Aquarium Finisterrae (AF, A Coruña) and was titled "Effect of different diets on tissue regeneration in Dendrophyllia cornigera (Lamarck, 1816)".

I improved my knowledge about deep-sea benthic communities by collaborating with the research group GRECO at the Oceanographic Centre of Balearic Islands in the ATLAS project. I took part in MEDWAVES oceanographic campaign in 2016, as well as in performing video analyses and presenting results at several congresses.

I also hold a scholarship at IMAR (Azores), where my main tasks were related to the University of the Azores’ Marine Biological Reference Collection (COLETA) and its associated database. I also collaborated in several campaigns for the input of new data and samples to the collection and in the ongoing development of a deep-sea species catalogue for the Azores.

I am currently working at IEO under the iATLANTIC project and doing a PhD at University of Barcelona to study the vulnerability of a cold-water coral species to climate change. The goal is to assess its response to the impacts of multiple stressors, environmental or anthropogenic, based on the future scenarios of the IPCC. It is supervised by Covadonga Orejas (IEO), Andrea Gori (UB) and Alfredo Veiga (AF) and the set of experiments will be performed at the aquaria facilities in Aquarium Finisterrae.
