CV Summary

Juancho Movilla has experience assessing the consequences of ocean acidification and global change on marine calcifying organisms, especially in temperate and cold-water coral species from the Mediterranean Sea. He has also been working with tropical organisms in Mexico (UABC, Ensenada) and Australia (GCI, University of Queensland, Brisbane).

During his PhD studies, he acquired an extensive experience designing several manipulative experiments in aquaria, as well as deploying different underwater autonomous systems to acquire long time-series of pH and other parameters of the CO2 system in different environments. He has participated in 5 oceanographic expeditions and more than 50 short campaigns in the Mediterranean Sea, the Pacific, South Atlantic and Arctic ocean. From 2012 to 2015 he was the fieldwork technical supervisor for the project “Eclipse” in South Shetland Islands, Antarctica. Since 2017 he is working as a technician in the research station “Jaume Ferrer” in La Mola, Menorca.
