CV Summary

Elisabet Nebot obtained the bachelor’s degree in Marine Science from the University of Alicante in 2015. During her practicum conducted in the COB-IEO in 2014, she specialized in ecological aspects of benthic species, what led her to developed her bachelor’s thesis focused on the population structure and growth of Pinna rudis in the National Park of Cabrera.

Later on, she focused in marine conservation, by pursuing an International MsC in Marine Biodiversity and Conservation (EMBC+), at the University of Algarve and at the University of Pierre and Marie Curie. She developed her master thesis in the Institute of Marine Science from Barcelona (ICM-CSIC), where she studied the genetic population structure of Corallium rubrum and its implications for the design and management of Marine Protected Areas.

Elisabet has recently been working on ecological and genetic aspects of Pinna nobilis to determine the connectivity patterns and its implications for the conservation of the species. She is currently working in the Centre Oceanographic of the Balearic Islands, as a member of the IMPACT@SEA research group supervised by Dr. Salud Deudero, where her main research topic is to study and carry out conservation actions for the conservation of Pinna nobilis in the Mar Menor lagoon (Murcia) as an action of the European project LIFE INTEMARES.
