CV Summary

I am interested in the causes of spatial and temporal variations in marine populations and ecosystem functioning, particularly those triggered by the impacts of climate change. After my graduation in Biology I worked in different projects related to marine ecology, fisheries oceanography and invertebrate taxonomy. I further completed my PhD in Global Change in the Spanish Institute of Oceanography (Centro Oceanográfico de Baleares-IEO) studying the spatial ecology of cephalopods in the western Mediterranean. As a postdoctoral researcher I worked in Oregon State University (USA) investigating the spatio-temporal changes in demersal fish communities related to climate variability and back to IEO, my work has focused on deep-sea benthic ecosystems formed by cold-water corals and sponges.

Currently, I´m working in the iATLANTIC Project, supervised by Dr. Covandonga Orejas, where we are combining experimental and field data to explore biodiversity and spatial and temporal changes of the deep-sea benthic ecosystems across the Atlantic Ocean.
