Abstract: This study provides an analysis of the main existing technical measures in the Mediterranean, in view of the new CFP objectives and taking into account the regional aspects of the Mediterranean management system which is based mainly in technical measures. The analysis identifies the types of technical measures and proposed which of them should be maintained, removed, altered or developed. Finally, some conclusions and recommendations are suggested to the Members of the committee on how to rationalise the set of specific and general technical measures in view of the above-mentioned CFP objectives for the Mediterranean Sea.
