CV Summary

Montserrat Compa Ferrer graduated with a BS in Environmental Sciences specializing in Geospatial Science from Humboldt State University (2012), MS in Terrestrial Ecology from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (2014), and MS in Marine Ecology from the Universitat de les Illes Balears (pending 2016). Currently a Phd researcher at the COB studying the ecological impacts of marine debris on marine ecosystems. This includes current research topics such as modeling spatial and temporal distributions of marine debris and microplastic ingestion in marine fauna. Previous research projects include coastal evolution through beach monitoring, impact and eradication of invasive species Zostera japonica, and riverbed restoration.

Since 2016 Montse Compa has had a PhD contract cofunded by the Regional Government of the Balearic Islands and the European Social Fund 2014–2020, working in the IMPACT@SEA research group supervised by Dra. Salud Deudero.
