CV Summary

Francesca Ferragut graduated in Biology by the University of Balearic Islands in 2018. In 2019 she did her practicum and master thesis “Biology of two species of elasmobranch batoid fishes, the skates Raja miraletus and the Mediterranean endemism Raja polystigma” at Centre Oceanogràfic de les Balears.

From then, she has been collaborating with the ECOBRED research group by participating in oceanographic surveys and doing technical assistances for two projects: “Characterization and typification of the catches of the peninsular trawling fleet that operates in the Balearic Islands” (funded by FOGAIBA) and “IMPLEMED: Improving the selectivity of trawl gears in the Mediterranean Sea to advance the sustainable exploitation pattern of trawl fisheries” (funded by the UE through the specific contract EASME/EMFF/2019/1.3.2.6/01/SI2.818717-SC04).

She also worked in the ECOSCOPE project and recently she started her PhD in the ECOBRED research group, which is cofounded by the Regional Government of the Balearic Islands and the IEO-CSIC and supervised by Dr. Francesc Ordinas Cerdà and Dr. Sergio Ramírez Amaro. The PhD is entitled “Biology, assessment and conservation of batoid fishes’ populations in the Balearic Islands” and it is nested in the ECOSCOPE project.
