CV Summary

Marc Farré graduated with a BSc in Biology from the University of Barcelona (UB) in 2010, MSc in Animal Biodiversity and Conservation from the University of Valencia (UV) in 2012 and PhD in Biodiversity from the University of Barcelona (UB) in 2016, developing his research in the Renewable Marine Resources department of the Institut de Ciències del Mar (ICM-CSIC) of Barcelona. His PhD focused in the multidimensional characterization of the diversity (ecological, taxonomical, functional and morphological) of demersal fish assemblages from the NW Mediterranean Sea (Catalan coast and Balearic Islands). During his PhD, he also collaborated in several research projects and management plans of fisheries resources along the Catalan coast. In 2017, he was contracted in the framework of the project CLIFISH (Plan Estatal Retos, MINECO-FEDER) in the ICM-CSIC, studying the spatio-temporal trends of decapod crustacean communities, as well as invasion processes, along the Western Mediterranean coast. He has participated in several multidisciplinary oceanographic surveys in the Mediterranean Sea and scientific congresses, and has published various scientific articles.

In October 2020, he joined the Ecosystems, Demersal Resources and Benthos group (ECOBRED) at the Centre Oceanogràfic de Balears (COB-IEO) within the project PESCAMED CINCO, which main goal is the study, monitoring and assessment of fisheries of demersal and pelagic species of the Western Mediterranean and which is linked to the Programa Nacional de Datos Básicos (PNDB).

"Este contrato ha sido cofinanciado por la Unión Europea a través del Fondo Europeo Marítimo de Pesca y Acuicultura (FEMPA) dentro del Programa Nacional de recopilación, gestión y uso de datos del sector pesquero y el apoyo al asesoramiento científico en relación con la política pesquera común."
